Job Description

We're working with a a fast-growing private equity firm focused on accelerating liquidity on private equity portfolios through structured solutions. The Associate, Data Engineer will be part of a team that is focused on building and maintaining the firm's cloud data platform — designing scalable data pipelines, curating high-quality data models, and exploring AI-driven approaches to accelerate and automate data workflows across the organization. They will work closely with other team members across Portfolio Analytics, Finance, and Operations to develop data solutions that minimize risk and allow the firm to move fast.

Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering, the ideal candidate is energetic, dynamic, and a team-oriented individual with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team. About the role Designing, building, and maintaining robust ELT/ETL pipelines and data models in BigQuery to support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives Developing and maintaining version-controlled SQL views, scheduled queries, and stored procedures following infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, GitHub Actions) Leveraging AI tools and frameworks (e.g., LLMs, AI coding assistants, MCP servers) to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and improve data quality Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Portfolio Analytics, Finance, Operations) to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions Contributing to the continuous improvement of CI/CD workflows, deployment automation, and developer tooling for the data platform Exploring opportunities to integrate generative AI capabilities into data workflows — such as automated documentation, anomaly detection, and intelligent data transformations About you You are passionate about data and AI, and love turning raw information into reliable, scalable data products You have a strong foundation in data engineering fundamentals — pipelines, warehousing, and SQL — and are eager to apply AI/ML techniques to enhance data workflows You are curious about emerging technologies like LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development, and look for practical ways to incorporate them into everyday work You understand the value of clean, well-modeled data as the foundation for trustworthy analytics and AI applications You are a self-starter who takes ownership of problems end-to-end, but thrive in a collaborative team environment where ideas are shared openly You are comfortable working in cloud-native environments and understand infrastructure-as-code principles You want to be part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organization where your contributions have a direct impact on business outcomes
