Job Description
Manitoba Transportation & Infrastructure seeks a Forecast Engineer to focus on hydrologic forecasting and flood risk communication. Utilize your expertise to enhance public safety through innovative methodologies. This full-time position emphasizes developing hydrologic forecasting models to support flood preparedness and reduce risks to communities.
You will prepare flood outlook reports, analyze hydro-meteorological data, and advise on critical basin conditions. The role demands strong engineering skills and the ability to work under varying outdoor conditions. Key Responsibilities: • Create hydrologic models for flood forecasting • Prepare and disseminate flood risk outlooks • Conduct data analysis using GIS and Excel tools • Provide advisory support on water management decisions • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on urgent tasks Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field • Extensive experience in modeling and data analysis • Knowledge of hydraulic routing and flood mapping • Legally entitled to work in Canada • Capable of fulfilling physical job requirements outdoors Contribute your technical expertise to Manitoba's water safety initiatives while ensuring community preparedness. #J-18808-Ljbffr
