Overview The Head of Tech for Core Marketing Platform will spearhead the workstream responsible for the FanDuel Marketing Platform (CMP)β€”the foundational technology that powers our core generosity and marketing experience. CMP is mission-critical to delivering seamless, high-performance personalized and real-time generosity and other marketing products at scale. This workstream drives the Audience experience and audience growth for our core product experiences.

The Head of Tech will lead strategic investments in platform infrastructure, modernization, and evolution of Cross Product Promotions (CPP) to enable secure, reliable, and next-generation marketing technology and product features. This role requires building trusted partnerships across teams and senior leaders to meet evolving cross-functional needs. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Company to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities Delivery and 24/7 support of first-class software solutions that are secure, performant, reliable, and help provide an engaging and safe customer experience. Drive a collaborative, efficient, and continually improving test function that partners with engineering and wider teams to ensure rapid delivery of high-quality products and services. Drive consistent high performance and engineering excellence from technical teams; lead by example and adopt new technologies as they emerge.

Develop and own the engineering strategy in conjunction with other Heads of Technology, ensuring adequate input, visibility, and engagement. Collaborate with other Heads of Technology to develop an active community of engineering practice within the division, focusing on continual improvement of activities and processes involving engineers. Lead with a people-first approach, developing a high-caliber team through recruitment, training, and coaching.

Ensure fit-for-purpose engineering practices and pipelines are in place for the domain. Identify and effectively manage engineering and wider technology risks, owning and driving mitigations. Use strong leadership to empower colleagues and foster collaboration between Transformation and BAU initiatives and teams.

Maintain appropriate documentation and governance in line with legislative and business-wide requirements. Work with the Operations function to ensure high uptime, rapid resolution of customer-facing issues, and sustained service quality, reliability, and stability. Apply technical expertise to troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident actions.

Collaborate with the Head of Delivery to implement effective delivery practices across the engineering function. Measure and improve engineering metrics by establishing a strong foundation for engineering practices and data collection using delivery tools. Build a strong partnership with the product team and support the evolution of product discipline.

Qualifications Previous senior management or director-level experience is preferred. Experience leading technology teams with a track record of delivering complex technology projects and programs through multi-disciplinary teams using agile, lean software and design-thinking methodologies. Ability to nurture and enhance the capabilities of your team and support career development.

Ability to handle responsibility and complete tasks in a timely manner with clear communication. Comfort working independently and in a team, across boundaries, and within leadership teams. Ability to set priorities and focus teams on what is most important while maintaining resilience under pressure.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand and relay strategic objectives and plans and drive alignment. Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical challenges simply and effectively. Open mindset for implementing AI in all aspects of the SDLC.

The applicable salary range for this position is $197,000 - $258,300 USD, dependent on experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
