This role focuses on structural steel and foundation design for heavy industrial engineering projects—including power generation, oil & gas, and chemicals—in Houston, TX. The position is a hybrid opportunity with the expectation of onsite presence as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Field engineering, structural inspections, and oversight of construction for designed repairs. Assist with engineering studies, calculations, detailed design documents and specifications, project cost estimates, and provide installation support services. Perform analytical modeling of structures and components utilizing STAAD or RISA software.

Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation elements. Manage project progress relative to plan, schedule, and budget. Review calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other structural engineers.

Review inspection reports from Orbital’s Asset Integrity group. Assist with preparation of cost estimates related to structural repairs for clients. Minimum Requirements BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Five years of prior professional experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas. Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or foundation design.

Working knowledge of STAAD or RISA analytical software or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications MS in Civil or Structural Engineering. Field inspection experience, specifically on heavy industrial facilities.
