Manager -Thermal Systems (RGE-AME) Expertise in Engine/Thermal Cooling Systems and Renault way of working, leading the team to design, develop, and deliver robust cooling solutions while ensuring seamless execution and transition across all project phases for local and global programs. Job Mission Statement Reporting line: Function Leader / Department Head Ensure end-to-end development and delivery of thermal / engine cooling systems according to Renault design system, regulatory requirements, and program objectives (QCT) Define and drive robust cooling system architecture covering all powertrain applications (ICE / HEV / EV) with optimized performance vs energy consumption Lead system and sub-system design, validation, and industrialization with strong technical decision-making Ensure product robustness under all operating conditions including high ambient, high load, and real-use case scenarios Drive cross-functional development with global and local stakeholders (hardware, software, calibration, suppliers) Monitor product quality, design evolutions, and impact on vehicle performance (thermal, range, NVH, cost) Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members and extended stakeholders Technical: Define cooling system layout and strategy covering Radiator, Condenser, Intercooler, Cooling fans, pump, valves, e machine, Invertor, Battery cooling circuits, Chiller, heat pump integration Ensure adequate cooling is secured in Upstream system design phase for varying vehicle operating conditions - High load, high ambient, Idle and Traffic conditions keeping right balance between Cooling Vs energy consumption Optimum design of components and sub-systems to meet Regulatory, Safety, Environmental and customer expectations Drive and ensure system and sub-system development with internal and external stakeholders covering Hardware, Software and calibration QCT management of part suppliers and Development partners Ensure Digital and Physical validation at part, sub-system and vehicle level taking in to market specific regulatory, environmental and customer expectations Managerial: Derive and Drive Team objectives based on company and Function objectives Predict technology and market trend in the work-scope, lead actions to proactively design and develop the product Develop, Coach, Motivate the team members towards excellence in daily outputs, well aligned with company objectives Skill development plan and execution for current and upcoming technology trends to prepare future-ready team Guide the team technically and tactically in difficult situations and ensure results are secured on time Scope of action: Technical: Components – Engine Cooling Systems (Passenger vehicle ICE, CNG , HEV , EV) Temporal: Development, mass production MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Lead new project execution and serial life management using agile ways of working, ensuring timely and quality deliverables Own end-to-end design and development strategy of engine cooling system components (condenser, radiator, CAC, degassing tank, hoses, AC pipes, air guides, etc.) from concept to serial production Govern & Validate engineering deliverables - BOM definition, design releases, change management (ECN), and design documentation aligned with project milestones Drive cross-functional alignment with costing, purchasing, and suppliers to achieve QCT targets and program objectives Ensure robust DFMEA implementation for critical characteristics and compliance with Renault standards and specifications Lead benchmarking activities to integrate best practices and competitive insights into design decisions Oversee supplier engagement for RFQ/RFI, development processes (RGPQP), and ensure quality approvals (PSW) for parts Coordinate with cross-functional teams (architecture, manufacturing, thermal, quality, testing, safety, homologation, etc.) to ensure system-level convergence Own project planning and governance through key tools/processes (TOP RO, NRL, NDL, ECLEM, TOTEM, ONEVAL, ONETD, QCDP, JIRA, etc.) ensuring milestone adherence Drive cost optimization initiatives through design efficiency, supplier development, and part standardization Lead development strategy across multiple powertrain applications (ICE, HEV, EV) ensuring future-ready thermal solutions SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Automobile RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Minimum 15+ years relevant experience in automotive Engine Cooling System Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Knowledge of automotive industry and markets Desirable: Able to make decisions & solve complex problems – technical know-how & professional knowledge PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOURS Good written and verbal English communication skills, Positive Attitude, Proactive, Team handling capabilities
