Network Engineer (F5/CCNA) (Seattle)

Network Engineer III (F5) Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Duration: 6–9 Month Contract-to-Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Overview Seeking a Network Engineer III with strong F5 expertise to support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure in a large healthcare and technology environment. This is primarily a remote role, but candidates must be local to Seattle and available for onsite emergencies. Occasional travel to Tacoma and Olympia may be required.

Top Requirements Current hands-on F5 / VIP F5 experience CCNA certification Ability to work independently and learn quickly Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science or Network Engineering (relevant experience may substitute) 5–7+ years of recent LAN/WAN design, buildout, retrofit, and remediation experience Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP, load balancing, application delivery, SolarWinds Monitoring, and Forescout NAC Required Certifications CCNA, F5 101 Preferred Certifications F5 201/301, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE (R&S/SP/DC), Python PCEP Technical Environment Technologies: MPLS, BGP, LDP, QoS, IPv6, OSPF, vPC, STP, DWDM, EVPN, L2VPN/L3VPN, MPLS VPN, FHRP, VLAN, IS-IS, VXLAN, DNS, ACL, FlowSpec, RTBH, APIs, NFV, Hypervisors, Virtual Switching Platforms: Cisco IOS, ASR 1k (IOS-XE), ASR NCS (IOS-XR), Nexus (NX-OS), Aruba Wireless, ClearPass Responsibilities Design, configure, integrate, and support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure Manage F5 BIG-IP LTM environments, traffic management, and application delivery optimization Support Forescout device profiling and SolarWinds monitoring/backups Create maintenance plans, SOPs, MOPs, and technical documentation Perform hardware/software upgrades and maintenance implementations Support root cause analysis, network standardization, automation, and lab testing Monitor network capacity and support deployment of new products/services Work escalations, POCs, vendor coordination, and onsite support as needed Present new technologies and provide training/documentation to internal teams Preferred Background Experience in service provider, data center/hosting, or large-scale enterprise environments Experience evaluating and recommending network hardware/software solutions Familiarity with Spectrum, SolarWinds, and Cisco DNAC Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills
