Geotechnical Engineer

Your main responsibilities Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules; Responsible for project management and delivery of geotechnical investigations and analysis for engineering studies for deep and shallow foundations (static, seismic and dynamic machine loadings); Experience with slope and earth structure stability, hydrogeology studies, excess soil regulations, stormwater control facilities, in-situ testing; Knowledge and experience with geotechnical instrumentation, construction inspection and laboratory testing; You will also play a key role on the engineering team providing leadership and mentoring of other team members; Prepare Technical proposals and write engineering reports; Business Development, client liaison and management. What makes you unique University degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Geological Engineering; Completion of advanced or specialized university courses in geotechnical engineering and foundation engineering (Masters’ degree an asset); Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in Ontario is required; Minimum of 6 years of solid Geotechnical engineering experience; Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities (asset); Ability to work independently, secure business and deliver geotechnical reports with minimal supervision; Current registration with MTO’s RAQs for foundations and/or tunneling disciplines an asset; Demonstrated ability that you are well organized, show initiative and can manage a team of technicians and/or subcontractors; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at any given time and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment; Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
