Lead Quality Assurance Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong background in modern software delivery, quality engineering, and release governance to join our Quality Assurance team in our Winnipeg office or remotely within Canada. As a Lead QA Analyst, you will play a key role in driving quality strategy and operational excellence across complex web, mobile, platform, and integration-based systems. You will lead testing initiatives spanning CI/CD enablement, API and microservices validation, automation strategy, data and integration testing, observability, performance validation, and production release readiness.

This role requires both strong technical depth and leadership capability to help scale quality practices across fast-moving Agile delivery teams. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Platform, and Operations teams to design and execute comprehensive test strategies that improve release predictability, strengthen system reliability, and reduce production risk. Responsibilities include overseeing regression and integration validation, supporting automated testing frameworks and pipelines, validating complex backend and data workflows, participating in root-cause analysis and defect triage, and helping evolve enterprise QA standards and governance practices.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with modern QA tooling and methodologies, including API testing, automation frameworks, microservices architectures, cloud-native systems, CI/CD pipelines, performance and security testing, test data management, and monitoring/observability platforms. Experience supporting large-scale transactional or highly integrated enterprise systems is strongly valued. Demonstrated experience designing and executing comprehensive QA strategies across functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, data, accessibility, performance, and production validation testing.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across Product, Engineering, DevOps, Platform, Operations, and business teams to align on quality objectives, release readiness, and risk mitigation. Experience supporting enterprise-level testing initiatives involving API validation, service virtualization, environment coordination, test data management, defect triage, and cross-system reconciliation. Experience validating microservices-based architectures, backend integrations, transactional workflows, ETL/data pipelines, and cloud-native applications across distributed environments.

Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced delivery environments while balancing production risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working knowledge of performance, scalability, resiliency, accessibility, and security testing principles, including the ability to identify operational risks and quality gaps early within the SDLC. Proven leadership and mentorship capability with experience guiding QA engineers, establishing testing standards and best practices, conducting reviews, and improving overall QA process maturity and delivery effectiveness.

An effective communicator, able to collaborate seamlessly with both onshore and offshore teams. What You’ll Bring 8+ years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing. Bachelor's in IT/Computer Science or a related degree Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in test automation tools and frameworks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.

In-depth understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) Familiarity with performance, security, and usability testing principles.
