Position Summary Senior Principal Project Engineer to lead, develop, and establish the technology and infrastructure for the Platform Connectivity Technology portfolio. Lead cross‑functional teams through system architecture, development, integration, and testing of new systems. Key Responsibilities Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion while meeting schedule and budget.
Plan and coordinate administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines. Act as liaison between systems engineering, systems architects, program management, planning, functional engineering teams, and leadership. Monitor project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
Establish measurable program metrics and associated data analysis methods. Coordinate with management, software, hardware, product owners, CAMs, and chief engineer to enable execution of systems engineering scope for a program team of 50+ engineers. Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, demand forecasts; manage project schedules; track and report on budget and schedule performance using EVMS.
Prepare and maintain artifacts required for SETR events (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, IBR, PRR, TRR, FCA, PCA). Oversee transfer of lowest‑level requirements to development and test for prototype and customer deliveries. Lead technology development programs guiding products through the TRL process.
Support test activities to prove out prototypes and components. Benchmark similar systems, review customer needs, and drive system, software, and hardware development and integration. Provide effective communication to management and customers; interface with cross‑functional teams.
Ensure excellence in engineering and technology. Learning and Development Work across functions including program management, planning, and engineering; support preparation of proposals, business plans, operating budgets, and contract terms. Be visible at the forefront of NC3 airborne platform development.
Qualifications Required STEM degree and minimum 10 years relevant experience or an advanced degree with 7 years experience (or 16 years if no degree). Active DoD Secret clearance required prior to start. U.S. citizenship required.
Ability to communicate and present to senior leadership. Travel up to 25% as required. Preferred Qualifications DoD Top Secret clearance.
Progressive leadership in design, development, test, and integration of airborne platform systems. Experience with Agile product development. Change Management practices experience.
Bid and proposal experience; prior Cost Account Manager experience helpful. Strong project management skills (MS Office, MS Project, EVMS). Data analytics tool experience (Tableau, PowerBI, PowerApps, Alteryx).
Risk identification and mitigation experience. Understanding of aerospace engineering design reviews and configuration management. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
