US Tax Manager β Partnership Tax / Private Equity Position Type: Full-time Experience Level: 10 Years Location: Hybrid Position Overview We are seeking a highly focused, detail-oriented US Tax Manager specializing in Partnership Tax and Private Equity. The ideal candidate will possess 8 years of deep expertise in US taxation, with a proven track record of managing large clients, complex fund structures, and multi-state compliance. As a modern tax leader, you will not only stay ahead of shifting state and local tax (SALT) regulations but will also leverage cutting-edge AI tools and tax technology to drive efficiency and innovation in our delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities Technical Review: Lead and review complex Form 1065 returns, including intricate Schedule K-1 generation, partner capital accounts, and book-to-tax adjustments. State & Local Tax (SALT): Manage comprehensive multi-state tax filings, complex state apportionment, and state-specific compliance tailored to private equity and hedge fund structures. Client & Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for large, high-profile investment management clients; lead the onboarding process for new funds.
Allocations & Workpapers: Review sophisticated partner allocations (including targeted allocations and layerings) and detailed tax workpapers. Tech & AI Integration: Actively utilize, test, and implement AI-driven tax tools and automated workflows to streamline compliance and data extraction. Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and manage junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and maintaining rigorous quality review standards.
Regulatory Monitoring: Proactively monitor and analyze recent federal, state, and local tax law changes, assessing their impact on the client portfolio. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in US Taxation, with a heavy emphasis on Partnership and Private Equity/Hedge Fund taxation. Education/Certification: CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or Masterβs in Taxation preferred.
Core Expertise: Deep knowledge of Form 1065 compliance, multi-state tax regulations, and complex investment fund structures. Tech Savviness: * Proficiency in core tax software (e.g., GoSystem Tax RS, CCH Axcess, or OneSource ). Familiarity or direct experience with AI-powered tax tools , data analytics, and workflow automation software.
CCH State Tax Tools, Thomson Reuters Checkmate other similar state specific tools. Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership capabilities, and the communication skills necessary to manage large client relationships and cross-border US teams.
