Details Duration: 6-month contract to hire / FTE conversion Location: Austin, Texas Other: Potential per diem Overview This role is an Electrical Construction Manager responsible for leading field execution of large-scale power infrastructure projects within a manufacturing environment. The focus is on medium- to high-voltage electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, VFDs, and power distribution . You will be hands-on in the field managing contractors and installation work, while also owning key project responsibilities including schedule, cost tracking, RFIs, and coordination from install through energization and commissioning .
Day-to-Day Manage electrical construction from install through energization and startup Oversee contractors performing large cable pulls and equipment installs Coordinate installation of transformers, switchgear, VFDs, and power distribution systems Own project schedule, budget tracking, and cost controls Manage RFIs, submittals, change issues, and construction documentation Track field execution, inspections, QA/QC, and commissioning activities Resolve design issues and field conflicts with engineering teams Lead project buyout, scopes of work, and contractor coordination Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and quality requirements Required Skills 7+ years of experience in electrical construction / project management Strong experience with medium/high-voltage power systems transformers, switchgear, VFDs, power distribution Background in industrial, manufacturing, data center, or heavy industrial environments Proven experience managing: contractors and field teams, schedules and cost tracking, and RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation Ability to manage projects from installation through commissioning/energization Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent field experience
