Senior Engineer, Mechanical Engineering

Overview Using engineering procedures standard for research and development, the candidate will carry out assignments associated with research, design, development, support or manufacturing of specific parts, processes, software or components of medical diagnostic systems.

The role is performed under the general direction of a functional manager, with moderate latitude for self‑direction, and the individual may operate in one or more areas of responsibility within a specific function. Responsibilities Acts as an individual contributor, core team member or technical lead for a specific project; Accounts for the completion of assigned deliverables in accordance with approved schedules; Authors documentation and participates in activities in support of design control; Plans, performs and prioritises moderately complex tasks in alignment with corporate goals; Analyses and interprets data, identifies trends and formulates next steps when required; Leads the design or development of new test methods, specifications, technical apparatus, software or processes for moderately complex components and functions; Identifies product defects and documents their impact; Communicates complex technical information to cross‑functional teams through documentation, presentations or technical summaries; Possesses technical expertise in at least one area; Provides technical guidance or supervises other group members and cross‑functional technical teams; mentors others; Provides technical support for or leads investigations in support of development and on‑market activities; Generates predictable schedules for activities related to assigned projects; Secondary Functions Reviews and provides input to deliverables from other functions; Recommends and implements improvement initiatives to aid departmental practices; Skills & Capabilities Statistical analysis, root‑cause analysis, creative problem solving, critical thinking; Technically adept and confident; Leadership: accountability, decision‑making, influence, communication; Mentoring; Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field. Experience: Eight years of product development or relevant experience; Four to six years of product development or relevant experience for advanced degrees; For internal candidate promotion, demonstrated proficiency in meeting all competencies of the current level and acceptable performance history may be used in lieu of experience; In‑vitro medical device experience highly desired.

Additional Skills/Knowledge: Proficiency in English; International Mobility: Required: No. Travel Requirements: Some domestic and international travel may be required. Salary & Benefits The annual base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000.
