Job Description
Overview VTG is seeking a Sr. Engineer to support the Navy located at the Washington Navy Yard. Position is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities Engineers apply theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications. Engineers design products, machinery, implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, such as petroleum and natural gas, develop new materials that improve performance and take advantage of advances in technology.
Engineers analyze the impact of the products they develop or systems they design on the environment and people using them. In addition to design and development, many engineers work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories, determining the causes of breakdowns, and testing manufactured products to maintain quality. They also estimate the time and cost to complete projects.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field Minimum of 12 years professional experience supporting the US Navy or Shipyard 15 years professional experience related to labor category. Experience supporting a DoD component. Shows proficient skills associated with the labor category, performs complex tasks independently and completes assigned tasks on time and to a standard that is satisfactory or better.
Provides guidance and oversight to contractors at the junior and mid experience levels. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in science, engineering, or related field. Professional engineer's license.
Pending contract award Military friendly Pay Range VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $80,000-$140,000, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range. #J-18808-Ljbffr
