Job Description
A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Bridge Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects. This role involves bridge analysis, structural design, rehabilitation support, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams throughout project development and construction. Key Responsibilities Perform structural design and analysis for bridge, retaining wall, and transportation infrastructure projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, and construction documentation. Support bridge inspections, rehabilitation evaluations, load ratings, and structural assessments. Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and field staff to support project delivery.
Assist with construction-phase engineering support, including RFIs, field reviews, and design revisions. Contribute to proposal development, preliminary engineering studies, and technical evaluations. Qualifications Bachelorโs degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain. 4+ years of bridge or structural engineering experience within transportation or infrastructure projects. Experience working on bridge rehabilitation, replacement, or new structure design projects. Familiarity with AASHTO and DOT bridge design standards and specifications.
Technical Experience Proficiency with structural analysis and bridge engineering software such as LEAP Bridge, SAP2000, STAAD, MIDAS, or similar tools. Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenBridge, or related drafting software. Working knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, and foundation design principles.
Exposure to temporary works, staged construction, or constructability reviews is a plus. Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
