Position Title: Wealth Planning Quality Analyst Location: Toronto, ON (First Canadian Place) – Hybrid (Mondays & Thursdays on-site) Position Type: 6-Month Contract Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Role Overview The Wealth Planning Quality Analyst is responsible for reviewing completed financial plans to ensure they meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal best practices. This role plays a key part in supporting consistent, high-quality wealth planning outcomes by assessing plans against predetermined criteria, identifying gaps or risks, and providing clear, objective feedback to front-line advisory teams. This position is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional with a strong financial planning background who enjoys a structured, team-based environment focused on quality assurance, consistency, and risk mitigation rather than direct client acquisition or sales.
Key Responsibilities Plan Review & Quality Assurance: Evaluate completed financial plans against predefined quality standards, controls, and compliance assessment criteria. Accuracy & Consistency Analysis: Assess plans for overall accuracy, completeness, and adherence to sound, industry-standard financial planning principles. Risk & Gaps Identification: Identify errors, omissions, risks, or potential areas of improvement, and document findings clearly, objectively, and consistently.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processed financial plans align closely with internal institutional policies, quality benchmarks, and regulatory expectations. Reporting & Tracking: Document and track quality review outcomes, trends, and recurring issues to support continuous improvement within the planning line of business. Internal Collaboration: Partner virtually with internal teams and front-line planners to clarify quality expectations, provide persuasive feedback, and assist them in preparing corrected plans for re-presentation to clients where necessary.
Position Requirements (Must Haves) Education: Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Certifications: Must hold a valid, active Canadian financial planning designation ( PFP®, QAFP®, or CFP® ). Experience: Proven financial planning experience gained through a financial advisory, technical planning, or planning support/paraplanner role.
Core Knowledge: Deep understanding of core financial planning concepts, including retirement planning, cash flow management, investments, insurance, estate planning, and tax considerations. Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong critical thinking and judgment skills to evaluate complex financial information objectively. Communication Style: Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly document findings, alongside the diplomacy and persuasive communication skills required to effectively deliver feedback to peer planners during virtual meetings.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a structured, repeatable review environment while successfully managing independent timelines. Nice to Have Assets Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, Teams) and dedicated financial planning software platforms.
