Tableau Developer

Additional Information: Perm salary upon conversion $115k. Remote role. 5-6 years exp in Tableau. Hands on role. Building dashboards and understand backend data. Required Function 1: We are seeking a talented individual who will be part of the BI team, supporting the Tableau environment, content, and end-users. The team is also focused on enabling self-service reporting & data visualization, and helping other teams deliver value through data. Required Function 2: Essential Responsibilities:• Able to assist users with complex scenarios in Tableau Desktop & Server, guiding them on how to resolve their questions• Establish, communicate, and drive best practices for Tableau, and help ensure standards are being met• Apply broad technical knowledge, judgement and analytical skills to analyze, develop and implement solutions for process improvements, trouble-shooting, and production support related to Tableau• Involved in developing and executing training initiatives for end-users• Process ad-hoc data and reporting requests/enhancements, including maintenance of existing reports & dashboards• Conduct performance tuning for Tableau and SQL views• Work with business partners to gather and develop analytics/reporting requirements and enable Tableau visualizations and workbooks. This work can involve understanding data requirements, creation/modification of database views, as well as development in Tableau.Non-Essential Responsibilities:• Other duties as assigned Required Function 3: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop - Able to assist users with complex capabilities guiding them on how to resolve their questions• Strong development skills in Tableau and data analytics and visualizations• Ability to use scripting languages to leverage Tableau's APIs (JavaScript API, Data Extract API, REST API).• Knowledge of Tableau Server best practices for scalability, performance, content management and governance• Understanding of data extraction mechanisms and data warehousing concepts• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment• Excellent communication skills• Strong SQL query skills• Basic knowledge and experience with Python Required Function 4: Work Conditions and Physical Demands:• Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment• Ability to communicate and exchange information• Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data• Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)• Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals• May be required to work extended hours for special business needs• May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs Required Function 5: Minimum Education:• The knowledge typically acquired during the course of attaining a Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
