Overview AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key Responsibilities Design and implement energy‑efficient mechanical systems for next‑generation data centers Lead cross‑functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility‑equipment integration Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring Daily Work Connect with global team members to review ongoing projects, analyze energy efficiency data, collaborate on innovative cooling solutions, mentor fellow engineers, participate in design reviews, engage with vendors, and contribute to sustainability initiatives. Basic Qualifications 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas 4+ years of commissioning experience Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer License Experience with building codes and regulations for your region Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360) Understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, CFD analysis Knowledge of building management systems EEO Statement Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Benefits and Compensation Base salary ranges: USA, TX Austin $116,800.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually; USA, VA Herndon $116,800.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually; USA, WA Seattle $116,800.00 – $160,000.00 USD annually.
