Design Engineer

Job Description (JD) Position: Design Engineer Industry: Oil & Gas / EPC / Offshore / Pipeline Projects Location: Mumbai Experience: 3–12 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with experience in Oil & Gas projects to support engineering design, drafting coordination, and project execution activities. The candidate should have knowledge of engineering standards, project specifications, and design software related to offshore/onshore projects, pipelines, or process facilities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, layouts, and technical documents for Oil & Gas projects.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil departments. Develop detailed engineering deliverables as per project requirements and international standards. Perform design calculations, material selection, and technical evaluations.

Ensure compliance with client specifications, safety standards, and industry codes. Support project execution teams during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages. Participate in design reviews, HAZOP meetings, and technical discussions with clients/vendors.

Review vendor drawings and technical submittals. Coordinate with drafting teams for preparation and revision of engineering drawings. Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables within project schedules.

Required Skills Knowledge of Oil & Gas engineering standards and codes. Experience in EPC/Offshore/Onshore projects preferred. Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, SP3D, STAAD Pro, Caesar II, or related tools.

Good understanding of piping layouts, equipment design, structural drawings, or process systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and coordination abilities.

Educational Qualification Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ civil. MTech Preferred Experience Experience in offshore platforms, offshore pipelines, marine structure or marine projects. Familiarity with international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, IEC, or ISO.

Software Knowledge AutoCAD PDMS / E3D / SP3D MS Office Relevant engineering software based on discipline
