Job Description
Position: Economic Development Analyst - Term Location: Thompson Manitoba with option to work remotely within Manitoba Communities Economic Development Fund (CEDF), lead entity for the delivery of the Look North Initiative, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Economic Development Analyst to join our team in Thompson, MB (with a remote work option within Manitoba). This one-year term position offers exposure to diverse economic development projects, hands-on experience in lending and project finance, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, community-driven economic growth across Northern Manitoba Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will be working with both our project development team as well as our funding team. You will be responsible but not limited to: Analyze business proposals and economic development projects, including financial viability, risks and community impact; Perform credit analysis including cash flow modeling, debt service capacity and sensitivity analysis; Collaborate with external organizations and stakeholders; Analyze, summarize, and present data; Be part of team that develops new economic development initiatives and programs throughout Northern Manitoba.
Monitor and report on project performance and key financial indicators Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economic Development, Public Policy or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience); Individual holding CFA or CPA designation or currently in candidate program is considered an asset; Strong written and verbal communication and mathematical/analytical skills; Experience in lending or finance considered an asset; Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines as well as work independently; Strong knowledge of financial concepts, cash flow modeling, and corporate finance is considered an asset; Proficiency working in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.); Demonstrated analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail Who We Are Communities Economic Development Fund (CEDF) is a Manitoba Crown Corporation.
