Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer to support subsurface evaluation and injection strategy development within the Montney region. This role will focus on managing and optimizing subsurface storage associated with NGL processing byproducts, with an emphasis on safe, efficient injection and long-term reservoir integrity. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and characterize subsurface reservoirs for injection and storage of hydrocarbon byproducts from NGL processing Design and optimize injection strategies, including pressure management and long-term capacity planning Develop reservoir simulation models to support forecasting, performance analysis, and regulatory reporting Monitor reservoir performance and injection operations, identifying optimization opportunities and risks Collaborate closely with facilities, operations, and geoscience teams to align subsurface and surface strategies Support regulatory applications and ensure compliance with Alberta energy and environmental standards Provide technical input into asset development plans, including expansion or modification of storage capabilities Conduct risk assessments related to containment, reservoir integrity, and long-term storage viability Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience within upstream or midstream oil & gas Strong experience in the Montney region Experience with injection operations, EOR, disposal wells, and underground storage Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (e.g., CMG, Petrel RE, Eclipse) Solid understanding of AER regulations and subsurface compliance requirements Strong cross-functional collaboration skills (engineering, operations, regulatory) Nice to Have Experience supporting gas processing or midstream assets Background in fluid storage, disposal, or byproduct injection systems Exposure to carbon storage, sequestration, or similar subsurface containment initiatives #J-18808-Ljbffr
