What's the opportunity? (Role)

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient MEP Coordinator to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-performance building retrofit projects across the Dublin area. You will coordinate the integration and performance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems (particularly HVAC, heat pumps, BMS and ventilation) within existing buildings. You will also make sure every installation meets McKeon Group's high standards of energy efficiency, compliance and quality.

  • Lead MEP coordination with architectural and structural elements, including clash detection using BIM/Revit/Navisworks.
  • Oversee the upgrade or replacement of mechanical plant such as heat pumps, MVHR, high-efficiency boilers and BMS, integrating them with thermal envelope improvements and renewable systems.
  • Review and approve mechanical design proposals and technical submittals.
  • Ensure systems meet or exceed Part L, SEAI guidelines and NZEB requirements, coordinating with energy modelers and supporting post-occupancy monitoring.
  • Manage MEP subcontractors and specialist installers, and chair regular coordination and commissioning meetings.
  • Deliver complete documentation (as-builts, O&M manuals, commissioning reports, warranties) and support training and handover to building operators.

Skills / Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Third-level Degree (or related qualification/trade certification) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in MEP coordination.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plant room layouts, heat pump technology and energy-efficient mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with SEAI's DER grant programmes, NZEB, Part L and related Building Regulations.
  • Proven experience in occupied buildings and managing phased handovers during retrofit works.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM coordination software (Navisworks or equivalent).
  • Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight schedules.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the EU.

Desired But Not Essential:

Experience with SEAI Pathfinder, EERP or other DER grant-funded projects; knowledge of low-carbon heating and renewable technologies; CEM or equivalent certification; competence in energy modelling tools (IES, DesignBuilder or similar).
