About the position:

The City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its dynamic Treasury & Finance team. This position will support the Treasury function and play a key role in the implementation of the ERP system, while providing accounting, financial reporting, and specialised financial management support across the organisation.

This is a full-time fixed-term position until 5 March 2027, with the possibility of an extension.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Senior Management Accountant/Analyst as required.
  • Provide accounting support for the implementation and ongoing use of IBIS (ERP System) Enterprise Budgeting and other modules.
  • Assist with development and management of budgets, including budget preparation, budget reviews and budget amendments
  • Assist with project and financial reporting requirements.
  • Support the Treasury & Finance branch with the preparation and output of monthly and annual statutory financial reports.

Position requirements:

Ideally the successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business or a related field, or lesser qualifications with significant experience. Candidates with comprehensive experience in accounting and financial administration practices, budget management, statutory reporting, financial systems, and relevant legislation would be highly regarded.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

The Accountant (Ref: 1394) position has a salary starting from $106,095 per annum or $53.69 perhour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
