Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled Commissioning Manager to join our expanding Power Generation & Energy Systems team. Experience within Power Generation, Energy or Oil & Gas industries would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commissioning of Power Plant systems, including Plant Controls Systems (DCS/PLCs), Gas Turbine Generators, HV/MV equipment, Electrical BOP, Fuel Gas, Fuel Oil, Instrument Air, Demin, Fire Systems, HVAC etc.
  • Develop, own and maintain the commissioning execution strategy, plan, schedule and resource forecast, integrated with the construction programme
  • Manage system-based commissioning from mechanical completion through pre-commissioning, functional testing, energisation and performance demonstration
  • Develop, review and approve commissioning procedures and ensure they are accepted before work starts
  • Accept the turnover of systems from construction to commissioning, and execute turnover from commissioning to the client .
  • Manage vendor and OEM commissioning scopes, including scope boundaries, witness and hold points
  • Coordinate contractual and performance tests with the client, and manage the punch list through to clearance
  • Verify installed equipment, instrumentation, control and protection systems against design, and manage resolution of commissioning anomalies
  • Manage commissioning cost, change and progress against the project baseline, and report status, risk and readiness

Team, Safety and interfaces

  • Lead, resource, assess and develop the project commissioning team, including contracted commissioning engineers and vendor personnel
  • Ensure all commissioning activity is carried out under safe systems of work, including permit to work, isolation and lock-off, in line with the NeoDyne safety rules
  • Act as the commissioning point of contact for the client, operations teams, subcontractors and third parties
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input ahead of design freeze, raising technical queries where applicable.
  • Work with the Completions function to ensure ITRs, turnover packages and as-built records are complete and accurate before handover
  • Capture and share lessons learned, and contribute to the development of NeoDyne commissioning procedures and standards

Experience & Skills

Required

  • Level 8 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience leading commissioning activities for projects in the Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, or Oil & Gas industries
  • Strong understanding of control systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment related to power generation.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, SLDs, P&IDs, and system specifications
  • Experience within Power Generation, Energy or Oil & Gas industries would be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering system-based commissioning and structured turnover.
