Job Description
PTB Management Pty Ltd is an established accounting firm founded in 2012. In response to global business trends, we have expanded our operations across Sydney, Singapore and Hangzhou. Our team consists of motivated and dedicated accounting professionals with diverse educational and professional backgrounds in both Australia and China.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Sydney team on a full-time basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss Statements and Cash Flow Statements for clients.
- Reviewing and checking month-end journals, accruals and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Preparing income tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and partnerships.
- Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), including GST reconciliations and payroll tax calculations.
- Maintaining and reviewing clients' fixed asset registers, including depreciation calculations, asset additions, disposals and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) implications.
- Performing monthly general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Assisting with year-end tax planning, financial reporting and preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
- Maintaining effective internal financial control systems and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and taxation requirements.
- Conducting financial investigations and assisting with audit-related matters as required.
- Providing accounting and taxation advice to clients and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in accounting or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience as an Accountant, preferably within an accounting firm.
- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- CPA or CA qualifications, or progress towards obtaining these qualifications, will be highly regarded but are not essential.
- Competitive salary package of $75,000 โ $85,000 per annum.
