Overview

As European Director for Valeda, you will define and drive the European commercial strategy, leading a cross-country team to accelerate adoption and sustainable growth. You will align sales, activation, marketing, and market access into a integrated commercial engine across Europe, translating regional priorities into country plans. Youโ€™ll manage performance, budgets, and resource allocation while building a high-performing, customer-focused organization.

This role offers strategic influence across markets and significant impact on patient access and device adoption.

Responsabilidades
  • Lead and align the European Valeda commercial organization against priorities, targets and standards
  • Oversee performance metrics: pipeline, forecast, installed-base productivity, treatment utilization, and country action plans
  • Partner with IMG Marketing to translate regional strategy into country campaigns and activations
  • Collaborate with Market Access to support access pathways and reimbursement planning
  • Engage country leaders, strategic accounts, key customers, and cross-functional partners to accelerate growth
  • Allocate resources and investments to high-value opportunities with financial discipline
  • Develop and execute the European sales and marketing strategy aligned with regional priorities
  • Own revenue, growth, market development and adoption objectives across Europe
  • Lead annual operating plans, budgeting, forecasting, territory design, and business reviews
  • Establish KPIs for pipeline, device placements, activation and conversion
  • Identify growth opportunities and correct performance gaps by country and segment
  • Demonstrate commercial and financial discipline, with P&L management as a strong advantage
  • Lead a dispersed team of 15+ across Valeda Sales, Hunter roles, Activation Managers and Inside Sales
  • Recruit, onboard, coach and develop talent; build succession plans
  • Create a high-performance culture focused on customer impact, accountability, collaboration, inclusion and speed
  • Ensure clear handoffs between lead generation, acquisition, installation and post-install activation
  • Manage performance, address gaps promptly and recognize contributions
  • Build senior relationships with key opinion leaders, clinic owners, administrators and stakeholders
  • Represent Valeda at European congresses and customer engagements
  • Act as principal commercial partner to IMG Marketing for positioning, campaigns, demand-generation and sales-enablement materials
  • Lead execution of marketing plans in countries, adapting to local priorities
  • Ensure alignment among IMG Marketing, country marketing, field teams and Medical Affairs
  • Monitor campaign impact and use insights to improve future plans
  • Collaborate with Market Access to support access strategies and implementation plans
  • Provide insights to strengthen local value propositions and access planning
  • Prioritize markets and initiatives based on potential, feasibility and readiness
  • Support longer-term plans for broader patient access, reimbursement or funding pathways
  • Ensure compliance with Alcon policies, quality standards, codes and regulatory requirements
  • Drive forecast accuracy, CRM discipline, pipeline transparency and timely reporting
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity and execution risks
  • Optimize investment and resource deployment for productivity and profitability
  • Ensure activities comply with policies and regulatory requirements
Requisitos principales
  • Bachelor in business, marketing, life sciences, healthcare or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in the medical device industry
  • Proven leadership experience across multiple countries or regional matrix
  • Track record of building commercial strategy and translating it into in-market growth
  • Fluency in English and at least two additional European languages
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, communication, influencing and stakeholder-management
  • Ability to lead through complexity, prioritize decisively and maintain execution discipline in a fast-evolving environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%+
  • P&L management, budgeting and profitability experience preferred
  • Experience launching or scaling innovative medical technologies in Europe
  • Ophthalmology, retina, therapeutic device or related field experience (preferred)
  • Experience with regional or global marketing teams on country-level campaigns
  • Exposure to European market access, reimbursement, health economics or funding pathways (preferred)
