Overview
In this role you will manage and develop relationships with shipowners and marine clients, acting as a trusted adviser on P&I and marine liability. You will translate client needs into insurance solutions, oversee service delivery, and collaborate with broking, claims, legal and technical teams. You’ll contribute to renewals, market engagement, and growth opportunities while maintaining strong insurer relationships and regulatory compliance.
The role combines client leadership with technical guidance to shape effective marine risk coverage.

- Manage and develop relationships with shipowners, marine clients and P&I stakeholders
- Translate client business and risk needs into clear insurance and service solutions
- Lead account service delivery to meet client requirements and service standards
- Collaborate with broking, claims, legal, and technical colleagues on placement and servicing strategies
- Provide technical input on P&I, charterers’ liability and marine liability covers
- Support renewal planning, market engagement, and insurer/P&I Club discussions
- Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and cross-sell WTW capabilities
- Contribute to new business activities including prospecting and client pitches
- Maintain strong relationships with insurers, P&I Clubs, claims advocates and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with WTW policies, regulatory requirements and service processes
- Strong experience in marine insurance with specialist P&I and marine liability knowledge
- Experience managing complex client relationships within broking, P&I clubs, marine underwriting, claims, legal or shipping risk environments
- Credible client-facing style with ability to advise senior stakeholders on technical and commercial matters
- Good understanding of the marine market, P&I clubs, placement dynamics and shipowner issues
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to explain complex issues clearly
- Ability to lead account activity, coordinate teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Collaborative mindset and ability to leverage cross-functional expertise across WTW
- ACII, legal, maritime or insurance qualifications advantageous but not essential if equivalent experience shown
