BSOF Area Organiser – South West region

Overview

In this role you drive organising campaigns and member engagement across the Southwest region for UNISON. You work with workplaces and activists, designing and delivering projects that advance union strength in schools and social care. You’ll mentor activists, handle employer relations, and support democratic structures, contributing to a diverse, values-driven public services union.

Flexibility and travel are expected to connect with members beyond normal hours, making a meaningful impact on members’ lives.

• Experience in one-to-one communications, organising, project development and campaigning
• Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser, and campaigner within a trade union or community organisation (desirable)
• Experience with employment issues including representation
• Understanding of trade unionism and the union's values
• Flexibility with working hours and ability to travel across the Southwest Region
