Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer specialising in commissioning for pharmaceutical projects with strong proficiency in Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control Systems. The Automation Engineer will play a key role in the commissioning, start-up, and qualification of new or upgraded process automation systems, ensuring compliance with GMP standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support commissioning activities for Emerson DeltaV systems within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and execute commissioning and qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for automation systems.
  • Integrate and configure field devices, control strategies, and batch management in DeltaV.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network integration.
  • Interface with engineering, construction, and validation teams to deliver project milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
  • Contribute to training materials and provide training for technicians and end users as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with DeltaV system commissioning in pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GAMP5, and related pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Experienced with field instrumentation integration, loop checks, and process automation troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering automation projects through commissioning and qualification.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.
  • Familiarity with batch process automation and ISA 88/ISA 95 standards is preferred.
