Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting an experienced Operations & Event Manager to oversee 2 busy bar venues.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced hospitality operator who can lead multiple management teams, drive commercial performance, and take ownership of events, entertainment, promotions, and customer experience across the business.

The Role:

As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and commercial performance of several venues, working closely with General Managers and Bar Managers to deliver strong results.

A major part of the role will involve planning, coordinating, and delivering events and entertainment programmes that drive footfall, increase revenue, and strengthen each venues position in the local market.

You will be highly visible across all sites, supporting management teams while ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation, profitability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, support, and develop Bar Managers across 2 venues

• Drive sales, profitability, and overall business performance

• Plan and oversee events, entertainment, live music, themed nights, seasonal activity, and special promotions

• Develop an events calendar across the venues to maximise footfall and revenue

• Identify new event concepts and commercial opportunities

• Coordinate with performers, DJs, suppliers, promoters, and external partners

• Work closely with marketing teams to promote events and maximise attendance

• Review event performance, customer response, and return on investment

• Ensure major events are properly staffed, resourced, and operationally delivered

• Monitor labour costs, stock control, wastage, and operational expenditure

• Review venue performance against budgets, targets, and KPIs

• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service and venue presentation

• Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, food safety, and company procedures

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing management teams

• Conduct regular site visits, operational reviews, and performance meetings

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and profitability

• Manage operational issues quickly and professionally

• Ensure company standards and expectations are delivered consistently across all venues

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous multi-site management experience within bars, pubs, hospitality, or a similar environment

• Strong experience in events management, entertainment, promotions, and venue programming

• A proven track record of increasing sales and footfall through successful events and promotions

• Experience managing external suppliers, entertainers, promoters, and event partners

• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing P&L performance

• Excellent leadership and people-management skills

• Strong organisational and project-management ability

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• A creative and commercially minded approach to events and customer engagement

• A hands-on and proactive management style

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and key events when required

• Ability to travel between venues according to the needs of the business
