Software Developer Manager

Compensation

• Up to $160,000, depending on experience + bonuses

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 software engineers
• Partner with product managers to prioritize and deliver work
• Guide development of web applications and an internally built platform
• Champion AI tools that accelerate the team's development
• Drive continuous process improvement across the team
• Stay hands‑on enough to guide technical decisions and review code
• Collaborate with the company's AI team on new initiatives

What You'll Need to be Considered

• 1-5 years of people-management experience specifically over software developers
• Enough hands‑on coding ability to stay technically credible
• Comfort in a role that’s 80–90% people leadership
• Experience working directly with product managers
• Willingness to work on site in Birmingham, AL, 8–5
• Experience managing through a front-end framework migration (e.g., Angular to React) or similar modernization effort
• Exposure to using AI tools to accelerate development work
