Product Development Department Manager – Pharmaceuticals

Your responsibilities

• Co-creating and implementing the product portfolio development strategy.
• Preparing long-term research plans, product portfolio development plans and development projects that support the company’s strategic goals.
• Identifying key development areas and technologies that may give the company a competitive advantage.
• Overseeing projects from concept to implementation, monitoring progress, managing risks and solving problems.
• Analysing the market and competitors to identify new product and technology opportunities, and staying in contact with research institutions, universities and technology partners.
• Planning and controlling costs related to development projects, optimising expenses and making effective use of resources.
• Researching and assessing new technologies that may be used in the company’s products, and implementing innovative technological solutions in production processes.
• Regularly reporting progress to the company’s management board and preparing presentations and reports on projects, product launches and team achievements.
• Building and developing cooperation with external research units, laboratories, scientific partners and technology partners.
• Overseeing research carried out by external partners and assessing the quality and effectiveness of the results delivered.
• Monitoring and ensuring that research activities comply with applicable legal requirements and industry regulations.
• Managing a team of project managers and technologists, setting priorities, developing competencies and ensuring effective cooperation between areas involved in product development.

Our requirements

• University degree in chemistry, pharmacy or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a role responsible for product development in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in managing a team and proven success in building effective teams and developing employees’ competencies — this is required.
• Experience in leading or supervising research and development projects carried out in cooperation with laboratories, scientific institutions or external partners.
• Broad knowledge and experience in product development.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice in research and development, as well as pharmacopoeial requirements and CPMP/ICH guidelines.
• Very good command of English, allowing free communication.
• Strong analytical thinking skills, with the ability to connect facts, draw conclusions and look for solutions.
• Initiative, energy and charisma in cooperation with project teams.
• Availability to work from the office in Wrocław 3 days a week, in line with the company’s hybrid work model.
