Early-Career Software Developer

You'll work alongside experienced developers across a range of established software products and technologies. Your work may include writing and testing C# and PHP code, working with SQL and MySQL databases, developing and improving HTML/CSS interfaces, debugging and resolving software issues, enhancing existing applications, assisting with the modernisation of established software, and learning existing codebases and gradually taking ownership of larger development tasks. You'll be working on software that is already in active commercial use, so you'll gain practical experience with real systems, real users and real development challenges.

Key responsibilities

Writing and testing C# and PHP code

Working with SQL and MySQL databases

Developing and improving HTML/CSS interfaces

Debugging and resolving software issues

Enhancing existing applications

Assisting with the modernisation of established software

Learning existing codebases and gradually taking ownership of larger development tasks

About you

Strong practical foundation in C#, PHP, SQL/MySQL, HTML, and CSS

Genuine programming ability demonstrated through previous employment, internship, university projects or substantial personal development work

Comfortable reading existing code, debugging problems and working out how different parts of an application fit together

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and codebases quickly

Willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced developers
