Lead Strategist - Sustainability

Overview

In this role you will partner with key stakeholders to shape MFS's sustainability priorities and drive execution of related initiatives. You will lead development of sustainability content and research, and represent MFS as a subject-matter expert in due diligence, sales meetings, and events. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to articulate house views and support investment teams with sustainability integration.

This is a leadership role focused on strategic projects, thought leadership, and advancing the firm’s sustainable investing agenda. You will contribute to a collaborative, high-impact environment shaping client-focused outcomes.

• Formulate and communicate MFS's sustainability views and integration into the investment process
• Develop perspectives on sustainability topics for client engagements to build strategic partnerships
• Lead strategic projects related to sustainable investing
• Develop and deliver the sustainability strategy and house views with presentation support
• Represent MFS at high-profile client meetings and events
• Provide leadership and guidance for team members on strategic projects and thought leadership
• Demonstrate deep understanding of governance, investment policy, and implementation issues
• Perform additional duties as requested

• Bachelor's degree; CFA, MBA, or other Masters' degree strongly preferred
• Extensive experience in a relevant field
• Expertise in current sustainability topics, trends, and best practices
• Vision and strategic clarity; strong strategic thinking and change management
• Ability to build relationships, inspire trust, and influence stakeholders on sustainability strategy
• Deep understanding of quantitative tools and techniques; comfort with technical topics across asset classes and global capital markets
• Experience with Factset, Bloomberg, Morningstar, MSCI
• Excellent presentation experience and client engagement skills
• Ability to provide inclusive leadership within a highly skilled, technically oriented team
