Senior IVVQ Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead integration, verification, validation and qualification activities for rail solutions, ensuring scalable, reliable and high‑performing systems. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines and with clients to define tests, manage defects, and drive delivery in line with IVVQ plans. The position blends hands-on testing with system integration in a global, growth‑minded Hitachi Rail environment.

• Collaborate with engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure on-time project delivery
• Lead identification and closure of defects, debt, and performance bottlenecks
• Follow project delivery processes and IVVQ/Engineering Management Plans
• Stay updated on IVVQ technologies and trends
• Support Work Package Managers with progress measurement, risk, and scope changes
• Act as Work Package Manager where appointed and lead the IVVQ team operationally
• Interface with clients to approve test specifications and host acceptance testing
• Write/approve test plans, strategies and specifications; execute tests and record results
• Raise, investigate and verify defects; maintain quality targets
• Identify and implement verification methods (IADT)
• Define, develop and implement IVVQ tools
• Ensure configuration control and manage SW tool deployments

• Extensive experience in systems development with IVVQ knowledge
• Strong SQL data querying and analysis
• Networking experience (Cisco/Netgear); Windows/Linux network config and design review
• Software testing experience including test automation
• Python scripting for automation
• Linux system configuration and bash scripting
• Familiarity with IBM DOORS for requirements management
• Experience with Agile and JIRA; awareness of DevOps and CI/CD
• Proven ability to test and integrate complex systems
• Solid understanding of systems architecture and design patterns
• Engineering delivery methodologies experience
• Ability to define and manage configuration control
• Experience with IVVQ tools development
• SW tools and deployments experience
