A leading industrial engineering organisation is seeking a permanent Field Service Technician to support customers across Australia. Offering $110,000 to $120,000 plus Superannuation, this role focuses on installing, inspecting, repairing and commissioning actuators and associated equipment across customer sites.

About the Role

Join a specialist service team supporting critical equipment across the Water and Waste Water, Petrochemical, Oil, Gas and Power Generation industries.

As a Field Service Technician, you will work directly in customer plants, solving technical problems and helping ensure actuators and associated equipment operate safely and reliably. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical engineering, variety and working independently in the field.

You will also build trusted customer relationships, provide basic set-up guidance and represent the organisation’s service capabilities during site visits.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Fault-find, repair, modify, upgrade, test and commission actuators in the field
  • Install actuators and associated retrofit components, pedestals and drive shafts
  • Conduct actuator inspections, health checks and occasional valve surveys
  • Prepare accurate, technically detailed site visit reports
  • Produce risk assessments and review or amend method statements to meet site requirements
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide basic set-up training when required
  • Identify service opportunities and promote relevant service capabilities
  • Complete occasional actuator repairs in the service workshop

What You’ll Need (Essential)

  • Trade qualification
  • Unrestricted electrical licence in the state of employment
  • Post-qualification experience in a practical mechanical or electrical engineering environment
  • Hands-on experience working with actuators or comparable equipment
  • Full driver’s licence
  • Willingness and ability to meet an extensive travel commitment
  • Ability to work independently, be self-reliant and contribute effectively within a team

Nice to Have

  • Field-based experience in Water and Waste Water, Petrochemical, Oil, Gas or Power Generation environments
  • Confined Space competence
  • Working at Heights competence
  • First Aid competence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
