Job Description
In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessment, crisis intervention, triage, treatment, and support to consumers experiencing acute mental health difficulties and their families.
Key responsibilities
- Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering recovery-oriented care across emergency, community, and telephone-based mental health services throughout Gippsland.
- Conduct timely mental health assessments, triage, risk assessments, and crisis interventions for consumers presenting with acute mental health concerns in emergency and community settings.
- Provide evidence-based treatment, recovery-oriented interventions, safety planning, and brief therapeutic support to consumers and their families/carers.
- Deliver telephone mental health triage services for the Gippsland region, ensuring appropriate prioritisation, advice, referral, and escalation of care.
What you need
- Qualified Mental Health professional with registration and/or professional eligibility in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Speech Pathology.
- Demonstrated experience assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for consumers experiencing mental health challenges.
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, recovery-oriented practice, risk assessment, and crisis intervention principles.
