This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of financial reporting processes, lead a high-performing team, and drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will manage a team of finance professionals and oversee the end-to-end financial close and reporting process. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls, and delivering valuable insight to support decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journals and accounting schedules.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Produce management accounts, KPI reporting, variance analysis and financial commentary.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to provide financial insight and support business decisions.
  • Lead intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities through robust financial analysis.
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience leading a Management Accounting, Financial Accounting or R2R function.
  • Strong people management experience, with the ability to develop and inspire teams.
  • Experience working within a large, complex multi-entity organisation.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Professional services or legal sector background.
  • Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation or continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience within an organisation with turnover exceeding £250m.

What's on Offer?

  • Opportunity to join a large and growing organisation.
  • Leadership role with genuine influence across the finance function.
  • Exposure to transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term career prospects.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment.

If you're a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your leadership career and make a real impact within a complex finance environment, we'd love to hear from you.
