Job Description

Lead with Purpose. Partner with Impact:

Kestra is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Enablement Engineer, who will accelerate developer productivity, streamline delivery workflows, and create a frictionless engineering ecosystem across Kestras technology teams. Building on the foundation of the Release Automation Engineer role, this position broadens the mission: to empower developers with world class tooling, automation, DevSecOps practices, and platform capabilities that enable safe, scalable, and rapid delivery of business value.

You will work directly with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to remove bottlenecks, drive platform standards, optimize cloud usage, promote technical excellence, and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

WHAT YOULL DO:

  • Build and evolve the developer experience platform (self service environments, automated scaffolding, golden paths, standardized CI/CD templates) which are foundational components of Kestras Internal Developer Platform (IDP).
  • Reduce cognitive load for engineering teams by simplifying tooling, pipelines, operational tasks, and cloud interfaces through intuitive platform abstractions.
  • Serve as an advisor and technical partner to development teams, supporting architecture decisions, troubleshooting, and solution design across applications and cloud services.
  • Create documentation, playbooks, and enablement materials to help teams confidently adopt platform capabilities and best practices.
  • Oversee administration and governance of core developer tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Lucid and SonarQube ensuring consistent standards, streamlined workflows, secure configurations, and a unified developer experience across teams.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Workflows ensuring consistent, scalable delivery patterns across teams.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, ARM) patterns, modules, and automated provisioning workflows that form the building blocks of a robust, self service IDP.
  • Build secure-by-default platform capabilities that ensure cloud assets and developer workflows align with Kestras security, compliance, and governance standards.
  • Optimize developer deployment workflows so they are safe, repeatable, observable, and increasingly automated with minimal manual intervention.
  • Automate operational tasks such as Azure DevOps administration, environment provisioning, and governance enforcement using REST APIs and scripts.
  • Collaborate with development teams to assess cloud architectures and identify opportunities to migrate from IaaS to PaaS, updating CI/CD and platform patterns as part of a broader modernization strategy.
  • Work with SRE to improve cost efficiency, scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence across the platform and all supported environments.
  • Participate in incident simulations, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery drills driving actionable improvements to platform reliability and developer experience.
  • Act as a bridge between developers, QA, SRE/operations, data engineering, and security teams.
  • Define and promote engineering standards, including coding guidelines, branching strategies, automation patterns, and platform best practices.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning, enabling rapid feedback cycles and iterative improvement across engineering workflows.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to advance developer velocity, platform maturity, and overall engineering effectiveness, especially in areas aligned with Internal Developer Platform evolution.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Typically 3-7 years of hands on engineering experience, ideally in roles focused on developer productivity, automation, or tooling, with a demonstrated track record of driving complex initiatives from design to delivery.
  • Expert level experience building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Workflows.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code in Azure Bicep/ARM.
  • Hands on development background in .NET with strong Git/GitHub SCM fundamentals.
  • Strong Azure cloud knowledge: networking, App Services, VMs/IaaS, App Gateway, Front Door, NSGs, and routing.
  • Experience designing developer workflows, golden paths, or self service automation.
  • Automation expertise using PowerShell, Bash, or Azure CLI.
  • Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Experience supporting cross functional engineering teams (dev, QA, data, security & Infra).
  • Passion for developer productivity, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Detail oriented troubleshooting and optimization mindset.
  • Clear, concise communicator with an ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong sense of ownership and a desire to remove friction everywhere.
  • Bachelors degree in MIS, CS, or equivalent experience.
  • Azure certifications (AZ 900, AZ 104, AZ 204, AZ 400) preferred.
  • GitHub and Docker certifications highly desired.
