Overview
You will join Amey’s Design and Development team in Manchester as a seasoned Highways Engineer. You will design and deliver highway projects, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with clients to meet quality, cost, and programme targets. - Design and deliver highway projects, supervising junior engineers
- Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation to meet quality, cost, and programme criteria
- Oversee junior staff work and take responsibility for their actions
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives, attend progress meetings, respond to queries
- Manage a small local single-discipline technical team and deliver workload
- Contribute to bids and the work-winning function
- Work on site, including out-of-hours and visiting arrangements
- Degree/Masters qualification in a relevant discipline
- Experience in highway engineering, especially local roads and S278 layouts
- Commercial and customer-focused approach to meet targets and generate income
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and supervise others
- Knowledge of Manual for Streets, DMRB, national standards and local standards
- Understanding of CDM regulations and their relevance to highway design
- Ability to support briefs for fee quotes and deliver on time, within budget and quality
