MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for a Business Manager. This role would suit a strong business professional with excellent communication skills, experience working across teams and organisations, and the ability to manage strategic priorities within a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
* Support the development and delivery of the Data Institute's strategic plan, translating organisational priorities into operational work programmes.
* Coordinate and oversee the delivery of the Institute's project portfolio, monitoring risks, issues, dependencies and benefits realisation.
* Prepare business cases, investment proposals, bids, financial reports and forecasts to support senior leadership and organisational decision-making.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across health, academia, government, industry and professional bodies.
* Support governance boards, steering groups and advisory committees, ensuring effective reporting and compliance with organisational, regulatory and data governance requirements.
* Monitor expenditure, resource utilisation and organisational performance, ensuring effective planning, prioritisation and value for money.
* Lead day-to-day business operations, developing efficient processes and ways of working while supporting continuous improvement.
* Identify opportunities for growth, collaboration, innovation, funding and partnerships, while developing measures to demonstrate the value and impact of the Institute.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
* University degree, professional qualification or at least 2 years' experience working within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong written communication skills, with experience producing business cases, proposals, bids and reports.
* High-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Ability to set and work towards agreed objectives while managing competing priorities.
* Experience working across different teams, organisations and staff groups at varying levels.
