Financial Reporting Accountant (ACCA Qualified)

Overview

In this role, you will provide statutory and management accounting support for Europe from our Canary Wharf base, ensuring UK compliance and timely reporting. You will work closely with auditors and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial statements, SOX-related evidence, and ad hoc analyses. You will lead month-end close activities, reconcile balances in SAP, and uphold data integrity across European operations.

This is a hands-on, impact-driven position in a global finance function focused on robust reporting and regulatory compliance.

• Prepare UK statutory accounts with supporting schedules for external audits (KPMG)
• Liaise with auditors and coordinate audit responses
• Research and apply UK GAAP (FRS102) for new business activities
• Post UK GAAP adjustments in SAP for unconsolidated entities
• Lead interim and year-end SOX control audits; provide analysis and respond to auditor queries
• Coordinate documentation requests from the Europe region
• Ensure timely internal monthly reporting to HQ in the US (e.g., benefit analyses, ad valorem taxes, doubtful accounts)
• Perform month-end close activities (accruals, amortisations, payroll, currency revaluations)
• Execute monthly balance sheet reconciliations; clear open items timely
• Review SAP accounting entries and variances to ensure data integrity
• Contribute to ad hoc statutory / analytical work and represent the team on projects

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Degree level education
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102)
• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in financial accounting/statutory reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to summarise complex issues for non-finance audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• Advanced Excel and SAP experience
• Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Accounts Production preferred
