Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Overview

In this role you support the Europe business by delivering statutory UK accounts, coordinating audits, and providing timely financial reporting. You will work with auditors (KPMG), apply UK GAAP, and manage month-end close, reconciliations, and ad hoc analyses. The position sits within the UK & HQ Financial Accounting team and offers exposure to cross-border processes, SOX controls, and global reporting to the US HQ.

• 9 day – fortnight (every second Friday off)
• Office-based in Canary Wharf
• Competitive salary: 75,000–81,400 GBP

• Prepare UK statutory accounts with supporting schedules for external audits (KPMG)
• Coordinate audit responses and testing; liaise with auditors
• Apply UK GAAP policy for new activity; post adjustments in SAP
• Lead interim and year-end SOX control audits; provide schedules and analysis
• Coordinate documentation requests from Europe; support cross-border initiatives
• Ensure timely internal monthly reporting to US HQ (benefit analyses, ad valorem taxes, doubtful accounts)
• Perform month-end close activities (accruals, amortisations, payroll, currency revaluations)
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations; follow up open items
• Review SAP accounting entries and variances; ensure data integrity in SAP
• Contribute to ad hoc statutory/analytical work for Manager UK & HQ Accounting and Europe

• Degree level education
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• UK GAAP knowledge (FRS102)
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in financial accounting/statutory reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to summarize complex issues for non-finance audiences
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Advanced Excel and SAP experience
• Thomson Reuters OneSource experience preferred
