ABOUT TWENTY FOUR-SEVEN Twenty Four-Seven is a small, independent organisation that has been supporting children and families since 2001. At Highbury House, we work with mothers and fathers, both individually and as couples, where there have been significant concerns regarding parenting ability. Through a structured twelve-week assessment programme, we support parents to develop their parenting and life skills, while ensuring that the safety, wellbeing and development of their babies and children remains at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our management team and play an important role in the day-to-day running and continued development of our service. ABOUT THE ROLE As Team Leader, you will work closely with the Manager and wider management team to ensure the effective and safe running of Highbury House.

You will provide leadership, supervision and support to the staff team, contribute to parenting assessments, monitor the quality of work with families and ensure that high standards of care, recording, safeguarding and professional practice are maintained. A key part of the role will be supporting parents to develop their parenting skills and life skills, whilst ensuring that the needs, safety and wellbeing of babies and children are always prioritised. You will also play an important role in staff supervision, quality assurance, health and safety, compliance and service development.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE PLEASE READ YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH BABIES AND/OR YOUNG CHILDREN. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting parents in the care of young children and who understand the importance of safeguarding, child development and promoting positive outcomes for babies and children.

Experience of working within a care setting, family setting or similar environment is highly desirable. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Manager with the day-to-day management and smooth running of Highbury House.

Provide leadership, guidance and support to the staff team. Contribute to and oversee high-quality parenting assessments. Support parents in developing their parenting and life skills.

Ensure the safety, wellbeing and developmental needs of babies and children are promoted at all times. Monitor and quality assure family sessions and the work undertaken with families. Audit files, assessments, recording, admission and discharge documentation and identify areas for improvement.

Ensure high standards of recording and reporting are maintained. Provide effective staff supervision, support and guidance, taking staff wellbeing into consideration. Support the planning and delivery of team meetings and reflective practice sessions.

Coordinate and support the induction of new staff. Allocate staff roles according to family needs and staff skills. Oversee staff rotas, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and ratios are maintained.

Support health and safety arrangements and ensure any issues are addressed promptly. Oversee medication processes and records. Maintain and promote compliance with relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and Ofsted requirements.

Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external professionals and agencies. Contribute to quality assurance, monitoring and service development. Deputise for the Assistant/Deputy Manager when required.

Contribute to the on-call rota. Undertake shifts as required, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is confident, compassionate and professional, with the ability to lead a team while maintaining a strong focus on the needs of children and families. You will ideally have: Previous experience working with babies and/or young children ESSENTIAL.

Experience working within a care or family setting. Experience of working at a senior level. Experience contributing to assessments of parenting ability.

Experience supporting parents in caring for young children. Experience leading, supervising or managing a team. Experience of multi-agency and multi-professional working.

A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance. Strong communication and written recording skills.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills. The ability to work independently and use your own initiative. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

The ability to motivate and support staff and manage performance effectively. A positive, respectful and non-discriminatory approach to working with families and colleagues. The ability to build positive working relationships with external agencies and professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS A relevant Team Leader or Management qualification is desirable. Candidates who do not currently hold a relevant qualification will be considered where they demonstrate the appropriate experience and have the willingness and ability to obtain a relevant qualification within 24 months of appointment.

WORKING HOURS The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the manager on-call rota and undertake some evening, weekend and sleep-in shifts as required.
