About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to oversee product cos ng, cost analysis, inventory valuation, manufacturing cost control, budge ng, and profitability analysis across the organization. The role requires strong expertise in cost accounting principles, variance analysis, inventory management, and financial reporting, along with hands-on experience in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Analyse material consumption and yield variances.
Track manufacturing overheads and recommend cost optimization measures.
Work closely with production teams to improve operational efficiency.
Evaluate cost-saving initiatives and monitor achieved savings.
Prepare and maintain standard and actual product cost sheets.
Calculate and analyse raw material, labour, overhead, and conversion costs.
Review and update Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing data for accurate costing.
Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis.
Conduct product-wise, customer-wise, and plant-wise profitability analysis.
Ensure accurate valuation of Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods, Scrap, and Consumables.
Reconcile inventory records with ERP and financial books.
Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets and cost forecasts and monitor actual cost against budget.
Prepare monthly manufacturing cost reports and dashboards.
Ensure adherence to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and company policies
Support compliance with GST and other regulatory requirements impacting cost accounting.
Process Improvement
Support automation initiatives and continuous process improvement projects.
Maintain process documentation and SOPs.
Required Skills & Competencies
Standard Cos ng, Product Cos ng, Process Cos ng, Inventory Accounting, Variance Analysis, Budge ng and Forecasting.
Strong understanding of BOMs, production processes, and cost structures.
ERP System (SAP S4 HANA)
Sound knowledge of GST and TDS regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under strict timelines and handle multiple priories.
Experience
3-5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting similar manufacturing Industry.
Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA is mandatory.
Experience in manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods industries will be an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
CMA/ICWA combined with relevant work experience.
Knowledge of financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance regulations.
Exposure to shared services or centralized finance operations environments.
