Finance Data & Systems Change Accountant
Contract Type: Temporary, Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months

Inspire Wellbeing is embarking on a significant finance transformation programme, implementing a new Finance and Procurement ERP system that will enhance the way we manage, analyse and use financial information across the organisation.
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Finance Data & Systems Accountant to play a pivotal role in the success of this project. This is a unique opportunity to combine accounting expertise, data analysis and systems knowledge within a purpose-driven organisation that is committed to improving mental health, wellbeing and support services across Northern Ireland.
Working closely with finance colleagues, operational teams, IT specialists and implementation partners, you will ensure the successful preparation, migration, reconciliation and validation of financial data while supporting system testing, process improvement and organisational change.
About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead key finance workstreams within the ERP implementation project and act as the finance subject matter expert throughout the transition.
You will be responsible for ensuring financial data is accurate, reconciled and ready for migration into the new system, supporting testing activities, redesigning financial structures and helping establish robust controls and reporting processes.
This role would suit an accountant who enjoys working with systems and data, thrives on problem-solving and is passionate about improving financial processes through technology and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial data preparation, validation, reconciliation and migration activities as part of the implementation of Inspire's new ERP system.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information through robust controls, reconciliations and audit-ready processes.
- Support the redesign of financial structures, reporting frameworks and system configuration to meet organisational needs.
- Coordinate and participate in testing, training and go-live activities, helping to drive successful adoption of new systems and processes.
- Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders and implementation partners to identify and deliver continuous improvements in finance systems and processes.
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA), finalist/part-qualified accountant, or qualified through significant relevant experience.
- Experience supporting finance systems implementation, upgrade or optimisation projects.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience working with ERP or finance management systems.
- Experience preparing, validating and reconciling large volumes of financial data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of financial data migration and ERP implementation projects.
- Knowledge of chart of accounts design and reporting structures.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Knowledge of VAT, fixed asset accounting and finance governance requirements.
- Experience within the charity, health or social care sector.
- Be involved in one of the most significant transformation programmes in the organisation.
