An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established national not-for-profit organisation. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead the finance function, oversee financial reporting and controls, and play a key role in supporting the organisation's strategic growth and development.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while managing and developing a finance team in a purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead day-to-day financial operations and oversee the finance team.
  • \n
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • \n
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning, and financial analysis.
  • \n
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate annual audits.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Oversee multiple funding streams, grants, and stakeholder reporting obligations.
  • \n
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • \n
  • Support senior management with financial insights and strategic decision-making.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement, process enhancements, and finance transformation projects.
  • \n
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and governance committees.
  • \n
About You\n
    \n
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior finance leadership role.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • \n
  • Experience managing audits, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • \n
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
  • \n
  • Experience within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • \n
