Job Overview The Controller reports to Fiera Infrastructure's CFO and is responsible for financial reporting, regulatory and tax compliance, audit management, internal controls, treasury, systems, and team leadership. The role serves as the primary control owner and senior finance counterpart to internal stakeholders, senior management, auditors, and external service providers. It has evolved beyond a traditional senior accountant role and includes ownership of complex cross‐border structures, investor reporting, regulatory filings, and operational oversight across multiple corporate entities, portfolio companies, investment Holdcos and service providers. Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close – Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for corporate entities, portfolio companies and investment Holdcos;
review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, NAV support schedules;
prepare and review IFRS‐compliant financial statements with full note disclosures and valuation support. Audit & External Advisor Management – Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors;
coordinate audit planning, PBC requests, issue resolution, management representation letters, and audit wrap‐up;
manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, fund administrators and transfer agents. Tax & Regulatory Compliance – Oversee Canadian corporate and partnership tax compliance (T5013s, HST/GST, CRA correspondence) and coordinate U.S. and international tax filings;
manage FATCA/CRS classifications, PFIC inquiries, and regulatory filings such as Form ADV. Treasury, Cash & Controls – Oversee cash management, forecasting, liquidity planning;
review and approve payments, capital calls, distributions and fee allocations;
act as control owner for key financial and operational controls, support internal control design and testing. Systems, Process Improvement & Projects – Own finance systems and reporting tools (SAP, administrator platforms);
drive process improvements across close, reporting, audit and compliance workflows;
support implementation of new structures, funds, SMAs and reporting requirements;
lead ad‐hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management – Manage and mentor senior accountants and staff;
review work prepared byteam members and external providers;
partner with senior management, investment teams and operations;
coordinate acrossfinance, legal, tax and operations to ensure timely delivery of finance outputs. Qualifications University/College Degree, Diploma or CPA designation. Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience. Exposure to IFRS reporting and private fund fair value accounting. Experience with fund accounting, financial statement preparation, maintenance of accounting records and general ledger. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
QuickBooks and SAP are assets. Strong analytical, organizational and problem‐solving abilities;
excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‐paced environment. Excellent communication, initiative, team‐building and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory for positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval);
English proficiency also required. Benefits Hybrid working environment – 4 days in‐office per week. Salary range: $130,000 – $150,000 (Ontario) plus eligibility for bonuses and employee benefits.
