Job Description
ECCE AIM SUPPORT EDUCATOR - 15 HOURS PER WEEK
St. Audoen's Preschool, Cook Street, Dublin 8
We are looking for acaring, enthusiastic and reliable AIM Support Workerto join our preschool team.
The position is for15 hours per week during the school term, supporting the inclusion and participation of a child within our ECCE preschool setting.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside our preschool educators to provide additional support within the room, helping to ensure that the child canparticipate fully and meaningfully in the preschool day.
Duties
Duties will include supporting the child’s:
- Inclusion and participation in daily preschool activities
- Social and emotional development
- Communication and interactions with peers
- Independence and self-help skills
- Engagement in play and learning experiences
- Transitions and daily routines
The AIM worker will work as part of the preschool team to provide apositive, inclusive, child-centred and play-based environment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, patient, kind and enthusiastic
- Has a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
- Works well as part of a team
- Has good communication skills
- Understands the importance of inclusion and confidentiality
- Is reliable and committed
- Has aminimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Learning and Care/Childcare or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable
Position Details
- Hours:15 hours per week
- Schedule:Monday-Friday, 3 hours per day
- Term:School term / ECCE term only
- Location:St. Audoen's Preschool, Cook Street, Dublin 8
- Start date:As soon as possible
Appointment will be subject to the appropriate Garda Vetting, reference and qualification checks.
