In this role you will focus on researching potential cybersecurity threats to various systems, technologies, operations, and programs throughout multiple environments. You will perform analysis based on this research to determine the risk to the organization and take appropriate actions based upon that analysis. Responsibilities include rapidly responding to potential incidents and events to minimize risk exposure and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets and business processes.

Additionally, you will seek opportunities to strengthen remediation capabilities, reduce response times for incidents, and produce analyses of cybersecurity events that include perspectives on the behavior of adversaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate within the Incident Response (IR) function, reporting to the Incident Response Lead.
  • Lead investigations and response activities for security incidents, ensuring timely analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Lead low to high severity security incidents that do not require crisis management escalation.
  • Escalate significant, business-impacting, or crisis-level incidents to the Incident Response Lead and support broader response coordination activities.
  • Coordinate response actions across cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and business teams to facilitate effective incident resolution.
  • Conduct forensic and log analysis to determine incident scope, root cause, and business impact.
  • Escalate significant incidents to IR leadership and assist in coordinating response activities.
  • Prepare incident reports and technical summaries for management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response playbooks, procedures, and documentation.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and support implementation of lessons learned.
  • Manage the operational activities and performance of assigned junior incident response personnel, providing mentoring, guidance, and oversight during security investigations.
  • Support compliance with internal policies, regulatory obligations, and industry standards.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and provide out-of-hours support when required.

  • Minimum 8+ years of dedicated experience in a SOC Analyst or Incident Response role within an established SOC environment
  • Experience investigating security incidents within enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical experience using SIEM and EDR platforms.
  • Understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (MITRE ATT&CK).
  • Familiarity with incident response frameworks such as NIST and SANS.
  • Experience performing network and endpoint investigations.
  • Strong understanding of security controls and mitigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with query languages such as Splunk SPL or CrowdStrike Query Language.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCIH, CySA+, GCFA, or equivalent is desirable.
