Job Description
Most English in Buenos Aires is not taught in a school. It is taught at nine in the morning in a meeting room in Retiro, to six people who have a call with Houston at eleven and need to survive it.
That is the work. We are hiring teachers for in-company English across CABA and Gran Buenos Aires, and for professionals who come to our campus at Maipú 464.
What you would actually do
- Teach English to working adults, one to one and in small groups, in their offices and at our school.
- Build classes around what the job actually demands: calls, meetings, emails, presentations, negotiation, the vocabulary of their industry rather than the vocabulary of unit seven.
- Run a needs analysis at the start and tell the company honestly where their people are, in CEFR terms they can act on.
- Keep attendance and progress records that survive a corporate review, because the person who signs the invoice is not the person in the room.
- Tell us early when a group is not working. In corporate contracts there is no time to fix things late.
What we look for
- English at C1 or above, whether you are a native speaker or an Argentine who learned it here.
- Experience teaching adults. In-company experience is the thing we look for first, and two contactable references matter more to us than any certificate.
- A TEFL, CELTA, TESOL or profesorado, or enough classroom experience to make the certificate beside the point.
- You live in CABA or Buenos Aires Province and can travel within your zone. Tell us your area and we match by proximity, because nobody teaches well after ninety minutes on the 152.
- The paperwork to work in Argentina, or a clear plan to get it.
A real advantage: experience in a specific sector such as finance, technology, law, oil and gas, pharma or logistics; and Spanish at any level, which helps in the room with beginners even though the class runs in English.
If you are not certified yet
Two doors lead to this job and both are open.
If you already teach. If you do not, our accredited TEFL course runs here in Buenos Aires: four weeks, ten hours of observation, and a minimum of ten hours of assessed teaching practice with real students, which is the part that actually makes you employable. A good number of the teachers who end up in these classes came through that course first.
We do not promise anyone a job before they can teach, and we do hire from every cohort.
Hours and pay
Paid per class hour, monthly, with travel considered by zone. Corporate courses run in terms, so the timetable is stable once it starts and is agreed with you in advance rather than sprung on you the night before. Concrete numbers are discussed at the interview, before any commitment.

Do I have to be a native speaker?
No. Some of the best in-company teachers in this city learned English in this city, and they are often better at explaining it because they had to learn it consciously.
How many hours can I get?
It depends on your zone and your availability, especially early morning and evening, which is when companies want classes. We will give you a real number in the first conversation instead of a promise.
Do I have to prepare my own materials?
We provide materials and a syllabus. What you build on top of them for a specific client is yours, and the good teachers always build something.
